Samsung may release the premium (or Prime) version of their recent Galaxy S5 in June. The Galaxy S5 did not really upgrade from the Galaxy S4 so it wasn't a good selling point for them. The specs had upgraded very little and it seemed the phone only had a major overhaul in the aesthetics department, coming in charcoal black, shimmery white, copper gold, and electric blue. While a lot of the specs that people care very much about such as the RAM and camera (13 megapixels to 16 megapixels) upgraded very little or not at all, they did upgrade the processor. They went from a 1.9GHz quad-core processor to a 2.5GHz quad-core processor.

The new Prime version will offer more options and a huge update in screen resolution. As reported by Sammobile, the Prime version will have a 2560x1440 screen instead of a 1920x1080 found on the current S5 and on its predecessor the Galaxy S4. The S5 Prime will also offer the option between two different CPUs -- a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip, or an octa-core Exynos 5 Octa 5422 chip.

Samsung would have done much better in sales with the Galaxy S5 if this had been the model they had released. The only question I have is, will that 2800mAh battery support a 2K display?
